Amazon has upgraded Alexa+ with a wider range of everyday services, including shopping, restaurant reservations, food delivery and ride booking.
The new version goes beyond basic tasks such as playing music, checking the weather and setting alarms. Users can ask Alexa+ to add household items to a shopping cart, find a nearby restaurant or book a ride without opening several apps.
Alexa+ can also continue the same conversation across different devices. A user might start a request on an Echo speaker at home, then pick it up later on a phone, Fire TV or the Alexa website.
The assistant is designed to understand more natural speech, so users do not need to follow a fixed command. They can add details or change their request as the conversation continues.
Amazon is also expanding Alexa+ support across smart-home, delivery, travel and transportation services. Availability will depend on the user’s location, device and supported service providers.
The update moves Alexa closer to becoming a practical tool for handling small daily tasks, from ordering groceries to arranging dinner or booking a ride.
