AI Studio has not officially launched yet, so a complete hands-on test is not currently possible. Based on the announced features, the workflow should be fairly straightforward: once a live event ends, the recording is processed directly, the AI selects clips, and the user reviews them.
The real question is how accurately it chooses the right moments.
The most shareable part of a live event is not necessarily the fastest-paced segment or the 30 seconds with the most audience interaction. Sometimes the most valuable moment is an improvised answer or a complete, well-developed point.
If the AI identifies highlights only through audio and visual signals, it may inevitably overlook some worthwhile content.
The generated short videos will also probably require human review. Inaccurate captions, a weak opening, or an ending cut off mid-thought can all affect the final result.
Different platforms also have different specifications. TikTok and Reels favor vertical video, while YouTube and other channels may require different aspect ratios.
How well AI Studio handles multi-platform dimensions and layouts will be difficult to judge until the final version launches.
Live-event footage will also be processed in the cloud. If the content includes internal meetings, customer data, or other sensitive information, users should review Livestorm’s data-processing and compliance policies before using the feature.
Pros
- Saves considerable time finding material: There is no need to manually search through an hour-long recording for usable clips.
- Well suited to content repurposing: A single live event can continue producing multiple short videos after it ends.
- Low barrier to entry: Marketing teams do not need to master complicated video-editing software.
- Direct Livestorm integration: Teams already hosting events on the platform will not need to move their footage elsewhere.
Cons
- Real-world performance remains unproven: Highlight-detection accuracy can only be evaluated after the full release.
- Pricing is still unclear: The total cost of using the product cannot yet be assessed.
- Human review is still necessary: The clips selected by AI may not be the ones most worth publishing.
- Limited professional editing capabilities: Complex visual packaging, transitions, and precise pacing will still require specialized software.
Best for / Not ideal for
Best for
- B2B marketing teams: Suitable for teams that regularly host webinars and need a steady supply of social media content.
- Training and education teams: Useful for turning long courses into shorter educational clips.
- Companies already using Livestorm: Existing event recordings can be repurposed directly.
- Teams with large archives of long-form video: Ideal when the challenge is not a lack of content, but the time required to organize and edit it.
Not ideal for
- Teams that rarely host live events: Without a consistent supply of long-form footage, the value is limited.
- People with demanding editing requirements: Complex packaging and detailed post-production still require professional tools.
- People expecting fully automated publishing: Current AI editing tools still require human review.
