When you first open a1.art, it is easy to keep scrolling.
Unlike a traditional AI image-generation website that begins with an empty input box, the entire screen is filled with Apps created by other users.
I started by selecting a 3D clay-character App.
After uploading a front-facing selfie, several different versions appeared within seconds. The person’s facial features remained recognizable, and the overall style had already been handled. There was no need to study models, samplers, or prompt weights.
This is where the platform is easiest to use.
When you want a particular effect, finding an App is usually faster than writing the prompt yourself.
For example, if you see a recently popular profile-picture style and someone has already turned it into an App, you can open it and upload your photo immediately.
The disadvantage comes from the same structure.
As the number of Apps grows, the differences in quality become obvious.
Some produce a good result on the first attempt. Others have attractive titles and cover images but generate fairly ordinary results. You still need to identify the Apps that genuinely work well.
I also tested video face swapping.
I selected a template and added a clear front-facing portrait. Shots where the face appeared farther away looked acceptable. In close-ups, however, AI compositing artifacts remained visible around the edges and in changing expressions.
It works for entertaining short videos but falls far short of professional film material.
Credit consumption becomes the most noticeable issue over time.
Ordinary image generation is manageable. Once you repeatedly generate videos, higher-specification images, or content from popular Apps, the free allowance disappears quickly.
It is therefore not advisable to press Generate repeatedly whenever you find an entertaining App.
First use the standard specification to assess the composition and style. Once the direction is right, create a higher-quality version. This can save a considerable number of credits.
Another platform feature is the ability to “create an App.”
If you repeatedly use a particular style, you can package the workflow as an App. In the future, you only need to replace the portrait or text input instead of configuring everything again.
This offers more long-term value than simply browsing templates.

- Video still contains AI artifacts: Close-up faces and complex movements reveal flaws more easily.
- The large number of Apps makes filtering difficult: Finding the tools that truly suit you takes some time.
