Unboring.ai Overview

Unboring’s feature set is not especially complicated. It mainly consists of three categories: Face Swap, Video Restyle, and AI Animation.

Face Swap does exactly what its name suggests.

Upload a portrait, then select an image or video template, and the system automatically replaces the face. It can also process scenes containing multiple people, although the final quality depends heavily on the source photo.

Video Restyle is more like an AI style filter.

An ordinary video of dancing, sports, or everyday life can be regenerated in visual styles such as Anime, Claymation, Inkpunk, or Cosmic. It does more than simply apply new colors to the footage; it redraws the entire video.

Another feature that is easy to become absorbed in is AI Animation.

Upload a portrait and select a preset audio track, and the person in the photo will begin moving their mouth and changing expressions. You can also try it with group photos, making it suitable for content such as “an old photograph suddenly starts singing.”

The platform also provides many ready-made templates. If you do not want to find your own material, simply choose one and upload a photo to get started.

Its overall purpose is clear: it is neither Photoshop nor Runway. The focus is on quickly producing an entertaining result that you can send to friends or post on social media.

Unboring.ai Pricing

PlanPriceDescription
Free Free Allows you to try selected basic features, although output and usage are limited and results may include the platform’s watermark.
Basic Approximately $7.58 per month; $90.99 per year Removes ads and watermarks, allows face swaps on up to approximately 100 photos per month, and unlocks features such as Video Restyle.
Premium Approximately $9.99 per month; $119.99 per year Provides a more generous or unlimited allowance for photo Face Swap and includes the main benefits of the Basic plan.

Unboring offers a free plan and paid subscriptions, with some features limited by credits, usage frequency, or video length.

Premium’s “unlimited” allowance mainly applies to photo face swaps. It does not mean that Video Restyle and AI Animation are also completely unlimited.

Video duration, generation count, and specific credit rules may still be calculated separately. Before subscribing, confirm how the features you expect to use most often consume your allowance.

Refunds are also subject to conditions. Some refund policies require the relevant credits to remain unused, so it is not suitable to generate a large amount of content before deciding whether to request a refund.

Unboring.ai Editorial Review

The first thing I tried was making a group photo sing.

I uploaded the picture, selected a birthday song, and waited for it to process.

When the result appeared, everyone’s mouth began moving and their expressions changed along with it. On close inspection, there were naturally some unnatural details, and a few people even looked slightly unsettling. But when you send the video to a family group chat, that is an entirely different matter.

This type of video is not intended for frame-by-frame inspection.

Unboring is best at creating an immediate first impression.

Face swapping works in much the same way.

With a clear, front-facing portrait, facial features and lighting usually blend reasonably well. Switch to a profile view, sunglasses, or a partially obstructed face, and the problems quickly multiply. Occasionally, the result has an obvious “pasted-on face” appearance.

Choosing the right source material is therefore more important than adjusting parameters.

Use a clear, front-facing photo whenever possible, and make sure the people are not too small in the frame. This makes the results considerably more stable.

Video-processing speed has a noticeable impact on the experience.

According to the official FAQ, video generation may take a long time. In some situations, processing one second of video can require several minutes of waiting.

In other words, even a short clip lasting only a few seconds may not be ready immediately.

If the first generation is unsatisfactory, you must wait through another processing cycle. The platform is also not particularly suitable for running many video tasks simultaneously, making batch production frustrating.

Video Restyle is better suited to short clips.

A quick clip of someone dancing or a pet can look entertaining when transformed into an animated or claymation style. As the clip becomes longer, waiting times and generation stability become problems.

AI Animation is also selective about its source photos.

Front-facing group photos generally work best. If someone is turning their head, covering their mouth with a hand, or appears too small among many people, the mouth movements and expressions can quickly become confused.

The free version is more of an entry point for testing.

Public information does not clearly specify the exact free allowance. Watermarks, usage limits, and maximum video length may also vary between versions. If you only want to test the results, trying a few ordinary photos is enough.

Pros

  • Strong entertainment value: Face swapping, singing, and animation are immediately understandable effects.
  • Almost no learning curve: Choose a template, upload a photo, and wait for the result.
  • Plenty of templates: If you do not know what to create, you can begin with ready-made options.
  • Works with group photos: Family and friend group pictures can easily produce entertaining results.
  • Centralized functionality: There is no need to find separate tools for face swapping, video restyling, and photo animation.

Cons

  • Slow video processing: Even a few seconds of video may require a noticeable wait.
  • Not suitable for batch generation: Multitasking and repeated retries are inefficient.
  • Highly dependent on source material: Profile views, obstructions, and blurry images are more likely to fail.
  • Video allowances are not transparent: Premium’s unlimited usage mainly applies to photo face swaps.
  • Limited professional control: It is better suited to entertainment than projects requiring precise output.

Best for / Not ideal for

Best for

  • General users: Create entertaining content from photos of friends and family.
  • Entertainment-focused social media accounts: Face swaps, animations, and singing videos can serve directly as creative content.
  • People who enjoy AI effects: Produce noticeable effects quickly without learning complicated editing.
  • People who need simple restyling for short videos: Experiment with different visual styles using a brief clip.

Not ideal for

  • Teams that need high-volume video output: Processing speed and task concurrency are not suitable for a production environment.
  • People who need fast results: Waiting times may be longer than expected.
  • People creating formal commercial videos: The control, stability, and output workflow are not sufficiently professional.
  • People with demanding standards for facial details: Face swaps and animations still contain visible AI artifacts.
  • People who only need professional face swapping: If you do not use Restyle and Animation, the value of the all-in-one tool decreases.

Summary

The easiest way to understand Unboring is to think of it as an AI toy box.

Upload a photo to swap a face, click a few more times to make someone sing, or restyle an ordinary video as an animation.

None of these features is especially complicated on its own, but together they are well suited to creating content for chats with friends, family groups, and entertainment accounts.

Its limitations are equally clear: video generation is slow, results depend heavily on the source material, and the platform is not suitable for batch production.

There is therefore little reason to judge it by the standards of professional video tools.

If you simply want to see what AI can do with a photograph, testing a few of the most interesting templates on the free plan is enough.

If you expect to use it regularly, consider Basic. Premium’s unlimited allowance becomes worthwhile mainly when you need a high volume of photo face swaps.
